I don't think people should be travelling yet anyway. Just the same as last time, running before walking. Just because a lot of people are vaccinated, it doesn't mean that it can't be spread to people who aren't - new or old variants.

And here’s the reason why certain countries and communities have higher rates. They simply ignore what everyone else is doing because they don’t give a sh#t. They’ve gone there to see family and have big weddings. Now they want to come back with the virus. Flights should be banned immediately and they should stay in India.

How did the Indian variant even get into the U.K. in the first place? Travellers should of been put in quarantine? Or have they just been allowed to roam free after landing in the U.K. from a country that’s rife with it! Clearly, no lessons were learnt from New Zealand and Australia handling

Should permanently be on the red list. Seen enough youtube videos of their attitude to road safety, hygiene etc. Every brit who goes there gets the brown rain.

The same condition was prevailing in the UK in December when their so-called modern Healthcare system collapsed and there was a lack of oxygen in all hospitals despite very less population.
So India is way better seeing the huge size of the population. Hopes and prayers

Why did they announce last Monday they were closing the border today? Why wait five days?!!! Tell us and do it immediately. Not give thousands of people five days to get here and bring it with them!! India have been far too complacent sadly. They were in the “look at us, we’re ok” brigade and their vaccination roll out has been shocking. Paying a very heavy price now ....

Far too late, 1.000's of people have jetted back here possibly bringing it back with them and infecting many more, we are just coming out of lockdowns so no one should have been allowed back sounds harsh maybe, but we need to be far stricter than we are, if people chose to go there that's up to them but don't let them back in until its safe for the rest of us.

I wonder what the numbers are since this shambles was announced:
"A briefing document drawn up by officials at Public Health England shows that between 25 March and 7 April, 3,345 arrivals from India were registered in UK border travel data. Of those 161 - or 4.8% - tested positive for Covid-19 after a PCR test"

Watched the number of people rushing back into the UK yesterday. It scary to hope they were tested before they got on the plane.

Kent variant, Indian variant, Brazilian variant, just remember this all came from the same Wuhan virus and there are and will be hundreds of variants. So stop the blame game. your country is probably producing a new one right now..
