The agricultural package of Maryam Nawaz has been launched in Punjab, where farmers will be given interest-free loans totaling 300 billion rupees within the first two years for the first time. Punjab's Agriculture Minister Syed Aashiq Hussain Shah Karamani announced the agricultural package, stating that approximately 400 billion rupees are being invested overall in the agricultural sector of Punjab.
Under the agricultural package, in the first phase, 500,000 farmers will be given interest-free loans worth 150 billion rupees, while small farmers with less than 12 acres of land will receive a farmer card.
Additionally, interest-free loans of 30,000 rupees per acre will be provided, and further 100 billion rupees will be allocated through subsidies and other measures. 80% of small-scale farmers and cultivators are included in the agricultural package.
