Life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)

The aim of the forum is to provide a platform to the Islamic Community to share and gain information on Life and events of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Is dominated by a superior morality, good habits, noble and gentle feelings, and superior skills and is a role model for Muslims societies and individuals. His ﷺ life is a practical demonstration of teachings of the Quran and is a role model for the whole humanity.

Following are the factors that highlight the significance of the study of Prophet's ﷺ Life:

  • An obligation
Studying Seerah is an obligation that Allah has put upon us. From the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), we can gain religious knowledge and principle of life. There are more than 50 verses in the Quran in which Allah has commanded us to take the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as an example and a role model. Allah says;

~‘He who obeys the Messengerhas indeed obeyed Allah’

~Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. Qur’an [33:21]

  • Love of Prophet Muhammad
Studying the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is a way to intensify our love for the Holy Prophet. Love of prophet is the condition of our faith as it has been said by Allah that Prophet has to be the most beloved to a Muslim among his wealth, family, children and life. The Holy Qur'an says:

"The Prophet ﷺ is preferable for the believers even to their own selves..." (33:6)

In order to prove our love for Allah, we must obey the Holy Prophet ﷺ. That is clearly stated in the following verse of Quran:

"Say (to them, O Messenger): "If you indeed love God, then follow me, so that God will love you and forgive you your sins.” God is All-Forgiving, All-Compassionate. Say (again): "Obey God, and the Messenger.” If they still turn away, God does not love the unbelievers." (11)

  • Helps us understand the Qur’an
Studying the life of the Holy Prophet ﷺ helps us better understand the Quran. The knowledge context of verses is important for better understanding of the Quran. It educates us about the time of revelation, when and where and for whom they are revealed. For instance, the following verse has no context at all to understand, if read alone; “Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has become displeased” (93:3). The Seerah paints the background and the context during which this revelation came down.

  • A source of optimism
The Life of Holy the Prophet ﷺ including events and principles purifies our thoughts, raise our hopes, lifts our spirits and blesses us with optimism. It serves as fuel to our spirit when the world is cruel to us and there is no hope for good. Both the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s ﷺ life give us hope and optimism for just such dark periods of our lives.

  • A precise methodology for the revival of the Ummah
Muslims have lost their glory and honor they used to have in the past. The Prophet's ﷺ life lays out a precise methodology and golden principles of life for bringing about honor and glory and revival of the Ummah. By studying Seerah, we can also learn about the lives of the prophet’s ﷺ companions. They are called the best of generations and inspire us by their struggles, sacrifices, patience, and perseverance. As mentioned in the Divine Book,

Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. [98:8]
